Thank you for considering joining the HSKG Lead Team. We are a group of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about building a thriving homeschool community. Our goal is to create opportunities for all students to make friends and spark interest in young minds through unique experiences. We rely on awesome volunteers who donate their time and talents!
We want to make sure that anyone interested in contributing to our community can make an informed decision before jumping in. As organizers, it's essential for the lead team to share the same vision and strive to make events as inclusive as possible for everyone who wants to get involved.
Organizers are asked to plan at least two events a month - excluding the months of June, July, August, and December. (Co-hosting or leading 2nd groups counts towards the 2/month requirement)
Flexibility is key, as we work together to plan events based on the group's availability.
Comfortable coordinating groups of at least 25 people while creating a welcoming environment, greeting families, and guiding everyone to our gathering spot.
Reliability is at the center of a being an organizer.
Communication skills and self-motivation are important attributes, we do a lot of behind-the-scenes coordination to make sure everything runs smoothly for our members.
The ability to plan in advance is essential as we tend to plan 3-6 months in advance.
The Lead Team communicates using Discord - all organizers must have or be willing to create an account.

While we do not receive monetary compensation for our volunteer work, lead team members are exempt from dues. We also have the flexibility to organize events that align with our interests and availability, making it a valuable benefit for those with hectic schedules.
Please note that no experience is necessary, if you're willing to learn you will be paired with a mentor who will show you the ropes!
