Homeschool KIDS Group is a secular homeschool community designed for families in and around Western Wake County. Our goal is to build a welcoming, fun, and active homeschool community with an emphasis on friendship, knowledge sharing, and support for both kids and parents. In this group you will find social activities, field trips, classes, and other opportunities designed to spark interest in young minds.

Homeschool KIDS Group FAQ:

What does HSKG cost?

The Homeschool KIDS Group offers a free 60-day trial period so you can make sure we're a good fit for your family. If you decide to stay in the group we charge $5 dues annually. This money goes towards our larger events like field days, parties, room rentals, and the studio fee for our annual merch order.

Do you have participation or hosting requirements?

We do not have any specific participation requirements, but we do expect members to reliably attend our events from time to time. Showing up now and then really helps us keep the momentum going and makes all these great events possible!

We do not ask members to host anything and we are not a co-op.

Where are the majority of your events held?

HSKG is a vibrant community where we host events almost every day! Most of our homeschooling activities happen in the Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, and Raleigh areas. We also love exploring North Carolina and sometimes organize exciting trips to various places around the state!

What's your policy on canceling RSVPs or missing events?
What happens if I go quiet for awhile?
Can I drop my child off at events?

Please try to give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel your RSVP. Many of our events require planning and coordination in advance, so this helps us keep things running smoothly and allows for waitlisted families to attend!

We occasionally remove inactive accounts and those at the end of their free trial to help keep our community thriving, protect member privacy, and avoid surprise dues renewals. We'll always message to check in before removing anyone, and you're always welcome to rejoin when you're ready to participate again!

No, all events require a parent or guardian to be present unless otherwise specified.

What if someone in my family is sick?
Will photos of my family be taken or shared?
Who plans all your events? What if I have an idea?

Our calendar is thoughtfully curated by our amazing volunteer Lead Team. Every event is planned, approved, and reviewed by an organizer to help ensure the best experience possible for our members.

If you have an idea for an event, feel free to share it with the Lead Team - we'd love to hear it!

If you're a business or instructor offering a class or field trip opportunity please reach out directly at

Members who are sick (fever, contagious illnesses, lice, etc.) should stay home from events. Details are outlined in our Sickness Policy.

Photos taken at official HSKG events may be posted to our private Heylo albums or public pages (Website, Facebook, and Vimeo) unless you opt out by informing a lead team member.
